Come along on this free walking tour of San Francisco social movement history, taking up the land-centered response of oppressed peoples as they sought liberty in their own land.

Along the way we'll introduce San Francisco's Big Idea, a magnificent proposal for establishing meaningful terms of citizenship, first articulated in the 1870s in downtown SF. It has particular pertinency for any earnest discussion of Israel-Palestine and the rest of the Mideast, including the current Syrio-American faultline.

The Black Panthers, Mormons, Hippies, anti-war folks, est, organized religion, Chinese, Native Americans . . . all of these communities have a shake in this walk-talk adventure that elucidates what it means to be (world) family.
