Hundreds of Unite Here Local 2 AT&T ballpark food concession
workers and their supporters picketed Centerplate company
which runs the concession operation at the Giants stadium.
The picket took place on June 18, 2013 and workers are angry
that they have not received a pay increase in three years.
Some members are forced to live in subsidized housing because
of the low pay by Centerplate. The annual wage is $11,000.
They also reported on the growing use of so called "non-profit"
workers to do their work.
The Giants owners also get 55 cents of every dollar and there
has been a massive increase of the profits for the owners.
A protest action also took place inside the stadium at one
of the concession stands. Other trade unionists and supporters
joined the line.
