Congolese historian BK Kumbi told KPFA that she thinks Angelina Jolie, in her advocacy for Congolese women, repeats the narrative of Western power and demonizes Congolese men. Kumbi will be speaking to KPFA further during special Mother’s Day programming by the KPFA Womens’ Department, about how the big powers speak to violence against women so as to divert attention from the root causes of the ongoing war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
