4/9/13 6 pm KPFA news skips Social Security 2 Million Signatures Story

by Register Peace & Freedom or Green
The big news story in the US on April 9, 2013 was the delivery of 2 million signatures to save Social Security and Medicare to the White House to protest Democrat Obama’s plan to cut Social Security and Medicare. This took place at 12:30 p.m. EDT and the story was online on MSNBC and many other places in the afternoon, well before the beginning of the 6 p.m. KPFA news on 94.1 FM as the East Coast is 3 hours ahead of the West Coast. If this coverup for the Democrats continues on the KPFA news, there will be no need for the KPFA paid news staff at all.

The reason the delivery of the petitions was on April 9, 2013 as on April 10, 2013, Democrat Obama will announce his budget, with cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Support for Social Security and Medicare is over 80% among Democrats and over 70% among Republicans and is the primary reason people voted Democrat for president. This litmus test issue is a labor issue as Social Security was won by labor in 1935 after the general strikes of 1934 in San Francisco, Minneapolis and Toledo and Medicare was won in 1965 by labor, which was an integral part of the civil rights movement of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

Social Security is not just old age pensions, although these pensions are vital to the survival of millions of people, mostly women. Social Security is also disability pensions, either permanent or temporary, and aid to children of adults on Social Security disability pensions.

This issue is so fundamental that there are now threats of running candidates against all Democrats and Republicans who vote to cut Social Security and Medicare in any way, whether it be by means testing, chains, or any other manner. The best candidates will certainly be the socialist and Green Party candidates as they always support expanding Social Security and Medicare to guaranteed decent pensions for all and socialized medicine paid for with our tax dollars via the progressive income tax, also known as taxing the rich, and abolishing the military. You could make your protest right now by registering either Peace & Freedom Party, a socialist party, or Green Party as they both need to double their registrations before the end of 2014 to stay on the ballot.
