Fresno Mayor and Pro - Privatisation of the Sanitation Dept Forces in Fresno Get Desperate

by fresnan
As community members and union supporters continue to gather signatures on a petition to put the privatisation of the City's Sanitation Department to a public vote, the pro-privatisation Mayor and those who stand to profit from this short sighted move to swindle Fresno residents of millions of dollars are getting increasingly desperate.

Here is a recent mailer that was sent out by an organisation that is a front group probably created by Mid Valley, the company which is hoping to gain the privatised residential sanitation contract, and local politicians which seek to raid the rainy day multi million dollar reserve fund for general fund use. The front group is called Fresnans for Responsible Government, and is spearheaded by a local union busting law firm called Walter and Wilhelm.

It looks as if these groups are getting more desperate in their attempts to try to avoid a public vote on their privatisation efforts. People who are gathering petitions throughout Fresno have reported numerous times that they have been harassed by people connected to the pro-privatisation group. Including being harassed by the owner of Mid Valley himself. For more info or to learn how to sign the petition, go to http://www.fresnotrashscam.com
