San Francisco

Despite record numbers of registered voters and interest in the election to be held tomorrow-- facts about all official candidates and how to vote for them is still somewhat obscure.

For voters who wish to cast their vote for candidates other than the ones printed on the ballot in San Francisco-- they need to know that they are still limited to a few official write-in candidate names if their vote is to be counted.

This official list of write-in candidate names must be available at all polling places-- and voters have a right to ask for it if they cannot find it.

The official write-in candidate list for San Francisco can be found at the Department of Elections website at:

November 6, 2012 General Election
http://www.sfgov2.org/index.aspx?page=3306

The actual .pdf of the list available there is:

Qualified Write-In List (PDF)

For the convenience of IndyBay readers I am uploading a copy of that .pdf available today at the above Department of Elections address. Please note that write-in candidates' political parties are not featured.
