Bear Murder: Human Chauvinism At NPR Continues

by Bear Rights
The murder of millions of bears has gone unreported by media, while the killing of 1 human by a bear gets great attention.

In Canada and 27 US states it is legal to murder bears. In Alaska Sarah Palin, elevated by oil companies from the mayoralty of a town of 6000 to the governor's office, made it legal to machine gun bears, wolves, moose and other mammals from helicopters, something not allowed in many countries. Millions of bears have been killed in the United States after being stalked and terrorized. Yet All Things Considered of National Public Radio which virtually never covers animals' rights has given OUR air waves to a rationalization by the Superintendent of an Alaska Park for the gunning down of a bear, the first bear in 90 years in that park to kill a human being. Sarah Palin and the hunters to whom she pandered have created a climate of violence in Alaska to which one bear responded.

The vast majority by far of trophy seeking rich hunters in the Safari Club and elsewhere are\ Republicans.

In addition, China provides a market for the bile of bears who are kept in bear farms. One mother bear committed infanticide and suicide rather than subject her baby to a life of agony. Canadian and American hunters' traffic in bear parts for the Chinese market

From bornfreeusa.org is the following quote:

27 U.S. states. Many of these states allow hunting practices deemed cruel and “unsporting,” including spring hunts, baiting, hounding, and the selling and trade of bear parts. It is estimated that between 40,000 to 50,000 bears are legally hunted in the U.S. each year; an unknown number are also illegally poached.

The picture is of Sarah Palin sitting on a skinned bear.
