Former Pacifica Interim ED and Present KFPA LSB CL supporter & Lawyer Siegel Cries Foul
Oakland lawyer Dan Siegel who used his position as interim executive director of Pacifica to intervene in previous KPFA elections using the Pacifica website which is not allowed under Pacifica bylaws is now worried about legal costs. He violates the bylaws of the Foundation and then complains about the costs of a lawsuit which he caused. He also said he was surprised that the Berkeley police beat up KPFA Black community producer Nadra Foster when they were called in by management he supported. This is from someone who not only knows many people that have been attacked by the Oakland and Berkeley police but is on the Berkeley Board of Cop Watch with ICR supporter Andrea Prichett. You can't make this up. Maybe Prichett needs to have an education class with Siegel about the role of the police in Berkeley to freshen up his memory.

"Richard Phelps and his disgruntled, foolish followers have brought a vindictive and ineptly drafted lawsuit in an effort to punish me for statements they resent. Unfortunately, they will not punish me, but they will punish Pacifica and ultimately themselves. Pacifica must pay for my defense, since I was acting as Interim Executive Director when I carried out at least some of the actions they complain about. Because the case has no merit and was brought to interfere with the exercise of my free speech rights - by self-professed champions of Free Speech Radio! - Phelps and his clients will wind up reimbursing Pacifica and me for my legal costs. Great work guys!"
