A multi-national corporation has submitted plans to build a hazardous liquefied natural gas import terminal on the North Spit of Coos Bay, and a 230-mile pipeline through Southern Oregon's neighborhoods, rivers, streams and public lands. Their main intent is to sell gas to the lucrative California market.

The Douglas County Planning Commission will be meeting to review the California
Pipeline (Pacific Connector) Conditional Use Application as it pertains to the 7.31
miles of pipeline to be located in the Coastal Zone Management Area (CZMA) in Camas
Valley. This is a special meeting so the pipeline will be the only item on the
agenda. Oral testimony will be taken at the hearing in addition to written comments
from affected property owners.
