In observance of “Land Day”, which commemorates a particularly brutal assault by the Palestinian people on beleaguered Israeli troops, the Berkeley-based Israel Truth Campaign (ITC) has launched a new campaign of bus shelter ads (pictured here).

According to the terrorist website StopTheWall.org, “Land Day … commemorates the events of 33 years ago, when Israeli security forces shot and killed six young Palestinian citizens of Israel and injured many. These brave youth were among the thousands protesting Israel’s expropriation of Palestinian land to build new Jewish colonies and expand existing Jewish cities. Today, Land Day symbolizes Palestinian resistance to Israel’s ongoing land expropriation, apartheid, colonization and occupation.”

"The global declaration of this year’s ‘Land Day’ as ‘the first Global Day of Action for Palestinian rights and for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions’ shows how urgent it is that Israel and its greatest ally, the United States, stand up strong and proud against the rising tide of anti-Semitism, masked as anti-colonialism,” said ITC founder Joe Striker.

The new ad campaign features a picture of Palestinian terrorists disguised as schoolchildren, and tells the true story of Israel’s remarkable fortitude and compassion in the face of the longest sustained resistance the world has ever seen. The billboard thanks American taxpayers for their support (over $14 million a day) and asks for increased contributions to help Israel eradicate the threat of Palestinian children. The text reads:

"For over eight years, Israel has been under siege. Unarmed Palestinian children have led the attack by crossing Israeli checkpoints, intimidating Israeli troops and provoking gunfire. Acting with extreme restraint, Israelis have killed no more than 1,100 children and seriously wounded only 4,000. Israeli troops have arrested over 6,000 children, but only 80% have been tortured according to PalestineMonitor.org.

"During our January 2009 offensive in Gaza, Israeli forces killed only 300 Palestinian children, and left only 400,000 people homeless. We have gravely injured only one international peace worker and deported only one U.N. representative in the last year.

"With your continued support we can do better. The U.S. government gave us $5 billion last year, but your additional contributions will help us arrest every Palestinian child, torture 100% of detainees, and rid ourselves of the menace of international human rights workers once and for all. With your help white phosphorous will become standard issue for every Israeli soldier.

In these tough economic times, think of Israel on April 15th and give generously."

Israel Truth Campaign unveiled its first bus shelter billboard today at Kittredge and Shattuck in Berkeley.
