Saturday May 10 - Vigil for Animals in Berkeley
Vigil for the primates being tortured by Jack Gallant at UC Berkeley. The vigil will be held outside his home, which is a frequent site of demonstrations during the day.
On Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10PM, we will hold a vigil for the animals at the home of UC Berkeley primate torturer Jack Gallant.
Jack Gallant is the only known current primate vivisector at UC Berkeley.
The non-human primates languish at UC Berkeley because of him. Gallant subjects these animals to misery with the use of restraint chairs, bolting their heads still, fluid deprivation, and electrodes inserted deep into their brains. Primates in captivity self-mutilate. They tear out their own hair. They exhibit the same symptoms of depression that prisoners of war suffer.
