Ahmadinejad Touts 'New Chapter' in Iran-Iraq Relations

Monday, March 3, 2008 : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wraps up a historic trip to Iraq Monday, seeking tighter bonds between the two countries. Ahmadinejad's two-day visit is the first by an Iranian president since former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein launched an eight-year war on Iran in 1980.
