Democrats Aren't Wafflers, They're Wifflers
The Democratic Party is not a bunch of wafflers. They are a bunch of WIFLers.
Let me explain.
If you assume that the Democratic Party leadership is not a bunch of idiots, then the only alternative theory has to be that they think that we are.
How else to explain this continuing failed “policy” of so-called progressive Democrats in Congress of passing terrible legislation and claiming that they will “fix it” later?
The approach seems to have first been developed early in the 1990s, when Bill Clinton came up with his disastrous “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy for gays in the military. Everyone knew it was a shameful climbdown from his campaign promise to end discrimination against gays and lesbians in the military, but the claim, and that the policy was doomed to failure, but Clinton and his supporters claimed that they’d “at least” get that lousy policy adopted and then they’d “fix it” later.
They never did.
The same approach was taken to welfare “reform.” Everyone could see that throwing people off of welfare after one five-year stretch in an economy that had no jobs and no childcare to offer was going to create more poverty and hardship, but Democrats promised that before that dire day came, they’d “fix it.”
They never did and poverty rates have soared in America.
Likewise with the Clinton-era “Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act,” which pandered to right-wing clamor for get-tough laws after the Oklahoma City bombing by undermining habeas corpus. “We’ll fix it,” the liberals promised.
They never did, and it paved the way for the vitiation of habeas under President Bush.
Democrats in Congress since 9-11 have continued with this cheap ploy, hoping that by voting for crappy legislation, they can get “cover” from attacks from the right, while hanging on to liberal support with the false promise that later they will “fix it.”
They did this when they provided their overwhelming backing for the USA PATRIOT Act and for its extension. They did it with the Military Commissions Act that seeks to retroactively legalize torture,
And now they’ve done it with the revision—destruction really—of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
In a sense, the Democratic backing for full funding of the Iraq War and occupation through September was the same kind of thing. “We’ll fix this in October,” was the mantra, as they provided Bush with all the money he wanted to keep the slaughter and killing going through the summer.

The dems voted for Bushcos' war from the beginning and funded every money order for it since. It is nothing new that they have finally bought the whole illegal thing, after being returned as majority by the people, to end the war and occupation. The last vote to fund the $ I00,000,000,000 to continue the war only proves by the U.S. constitution that they no longer are serving the needs of the People of the U.S.A., and as the two war parties are indeed in an illegal, unjust war,and both are guilty of breaking international as well as national law by committing war crimes and therefore both are doing impeachable practices. The anti-fascist covenant called the Nuremburg Trials finds in international law, signed on to by both Canada and the United States, that the supreme war crime on earth is the planning and doing of Agressive war as foreign policy, and that is backed up by the United Nations Charter which sees its purpose as ending agressive war and making it a long distant memory for future generations. Now that the UN security council headed by the minority Imperialist powers has succumbed to the U.S. Imperialist monied veto and disenfranchised the majority who are obeying the Charter, to end war and provide negotiation and collective agree as democracy as a new way forward in relations between nations, as was done by the same Imperialist powers to the previous League of Nations of which Einstein remarked during the 1920's that the Imperialist war makers have turned the League into a war making organization in direct opposition to its orginal founding purposes, the doing of which according to the U.S. constitution is impeachable as a high crime. In international law, the U.S. illegal wars have been proven by the world court of the Hague, the international criminal court, and the international war crimes tribunal (Bertand Russell style) and recently by the international tribunal on Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine. The proof is in folks and the majority has found U.S. Imerialism guilty of war crimes stemming back to the U.S. Illegal agression against the peoples of Indo-China, Korea, Phillipines and numerous other countries in Latin America, Africa and with six overkill of the worlds livability in the form of WMD, against the genuine freedom and democracy of the globes plants, animals and people. Bushco has committed the supreme crime on earth, that in its self calls for the U.S. Constitution to be upheld, and Impeachment proceedings arranged against all those who have perpetrated the unjust and illegal agression against the peoples of the Middle east and all other countries that it is guilty of invading and occupying globally. Impeach now is the true meaning of the world majority opposition which the security council of the UN has vetoed and left with out official status. We the people demand Bushcos' removal globally for war crimes internationally, nationally, and state wide. It is the law. War criminal Bush is not welcome in Canada, in fact Canada does not welcome war criminals at anytime or anywhere , re- no torture law and trials globally.
