This year, the General Assembly of the Industrial Workers of the World will be hosted by the San Francisco Bay Area General Membership Branch at the Humanist Hall in Oakland, California, at 390 27th Street. On Friday Sept. 1st, the day before the Assembly is called to order, the IWW will be recieving Fellow Workers from throughout the Union at its headquarters in the Grassroots House in Berkeley at 2022 Blake St., just west of Shattuck.

At 6:30 pm on Friday the IWW is conducting a rally and march, in Solidarity with IWW-Shattuck Cinema Workers, starting from the theater (located near the Berkeley Downtown BART station) and proceeding at a mischieviously Wobbly trajectory. Songs will be sung, the truth shall be spoken, and the power of Working Class Solidarity will once again rise from the rank and file of the world's toughest and most directly democratic radical labor union and its allies.

Following this splendid counter-spectacle in the midst of downtown Berkeley's bustling consumer hive, Wobblies and friends will return to Grassroots House at roughly 8:00 for a delicious vegan BBQ. After more musical entertainment and general merriment, the Branch will screen Fellow Worker Diane Krauthamer's very excellent documentary on the New York City I.W.W.'s Starbucks campaign. At Nine p.m. F.W. Gifford Hartman will deliver a most revelatory and inspiring talk and slideshow about the 1946 Oakland General Strike. A hint of things to come, perhaps....

The following day, after an 8:00 A.M. Breakfast and Registration session, at the Humanist Hall, the Assembly will be called to order, adjourning at 4:45. Workshops, Caucuses and Ad-Hoc Committeee meetings will then convene, until 8:00 p.m., at which time a very stimulating, passionate and diverse evening of musical and theatrical entertainments will grace the stage, featuring the Committee for Industrial Laughification, Mark Gunnery of Riot Folk, the radical performance art of Napolion e Baldassar, Entartete Kunst's Anarchist hip-hop, the Wills Wilde, and a wicked dance set to round out the night, brought to you by the inimitable DJ Malatesta. Our proud sisters and brothers of the Bay Area's Working Class are warmly invited to attend this singularly Wobbly open-house evening of hospitality and revelry.

We are eagerly anticipating the company and participation of all Fellow Workers who can attend.

For the One Big Union of All the Workers;
For the Cooperative Commonwealth;
For the Power of Workers Councils;
For the Revolution of Everyday Life;
and For the New Society Within the Shell of the Old:
We Salute and Greet You.
