( near Market and Octavia )
What to call the area around Octavia and Market,
near San Francisco's queer Center?
Some of my friends call it
"Cocktavia ".
But that's too raw,
IMHO.
Instead,
we could honor queer French author Jean Cocteau,
1889-1963,
by calling the area
" COCTEAUVIA "
[ pronounced "cock-TOH-vee-ah" ]
Or... can any readers
think up a better name
for this emerging gayborhood?
