During their meeting, in Gaza, Abbas said that the Palestinian Authority (PA) does the best to for assuring a quiet withdrawal from Gaza Strip and the northern parts of the West Bank.
He added that the PA asked for two things from Mr. Wolfesohn; to coordinate between the Palestinian and Israeli sides on the Israeli of withdrawal plan, and to support Palestinian economic projects after the Israeli pullout.
Additionally, he hailed the efforts of the Quartet envoy for solving the disagreements on various issues and for supporting the Palestinian people.

He added that he is convinced that there is a "similarity of interest" between the Israelis and the Palestinians that hope and economic opportunity for the Palestinians is really the key to peace and to security for the Israelis.
"I think it is extremely important that the Palestinian people understand that this is not now just another political game, this withdrawal has to lead to better life for the Palestinians living here and in northern West Bank and hopefully throughout the occupied territories," Wolfensohn told reporters, according to RNA.
