Former Gulf War conscientious objector Aimee Allison, who is now running for a seat on the Oakland City Council, has picked up key endorsements from the Oakland Education Association (the teacher's union), the Sierra Club, and the Oakland Tenants Union this past week. Allison has also received endorsements from Matt Gonzalez, former President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors; Wilson Riles, former Oakland City Council Member, Dona Spring; Berkeley City Council Member; Enrique Palacios, former President, Alameda County Board of Education; Clarence Thomas, Executive Board member, I.L.W.U., Local 10; Renee Saucedo, Director, San Francisco Day Laborer Program; Nativo Lopez, President, Mexican American Political Association (MAPA); Peter Camejo, Green Party Gubernatorial Candidate; Medea Benjamin, Founder of Global Exchange and Code Pink; George Johnson, National Board Member, Veterans for Peace; Tommi Avicolli Mecca, Founder, Queers for Peace; Kay Eisenhower, Chair, Vote Health; Gayle McLaughlin, Richmond City Council Member; Steve Morse, Coordinator, G.I.
