The growing attack on working people and organized labor is now combing with a growing anger and disgust with the lack of democracy and fightback by the AFL-CIO. Despite significant obstacles, tens of thousands of workers are voting to decertify AFL-CIO unions. This forum will look at why workers are leaving the AFL-CIO and what differences that they have with unions within the AFL-CIO. We will also discuss how labor can develop a united front against the growing economic and political assaults by both the Republicans and Democrats.

Bay Area Labor Action is part of a national network of trade unionists fighting for a more democratic trade union movement and for the labor movement to mobilize independently of the Democrats and Republicans. It includes workers within the AFL-CIO, in other unions and unorganized workers.
