Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In Presents

Majo no takkyubi
(Kiki's Delivery Service)

From the studios of Hayao Miyazaki, creator of Princess Mononoke. Gorgeous animation and a great story. A 13-year-old witch strikes out on her own and learns about self-reliance, interdependence, and her own powers. Hosted by Rico.

In answer to your unspoken film-geek question, we are showing the excellent dub version featuring the voice talents of Kristen Dunst, not the subtitled version. We are in this NEW ueber industrial location (train tracks, ooo!) WITH permission, courtesy of our friends at Bonny Doon Vineyard (so go buy a bottle of Big House Red)! The cops can come and watch the film, but they can't kick us out.

We've had dozens of folks join the Guerilla Drive-In ranks in the last few days due to the articles in the Metro, Sentinel, and Good Times. Welcome to all the new guerillas.

PLUS selected shorts, previews, yummy popcorn, good company, and an intermission.

8:00 pm Friday July 30th, Railroad Tracks at Fair Ave, Santa Cruz

BRING blankets, lawn chairs, friends, wine, & snackies for intermission. Donations are greatly appreciated and directly support the project and the Revolutionary Garden Society who sponsors Guerilla Drive-In.

SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is exactly what it sounds like -- an outdoor movie theatre under the stars that springs up unexpectedly in the fields and industrial wastelands. Guerilla Drive-In is helping reclaim public space and transform our urban environment into the joyful playground it should be.

ANOTHER NEW URBAN WASTELAND LOCATION!
S on Hwy 17 to Hwy 1, Hwy 1 north to Mission St, L on Fair Ave after Feral Donuts, walk a short way along the RR tracks to the right.
