Hey Folks,
The Independent Truckers down at the Oakland Docks ROCK! They are hardcore, completely united and have brought the trucking companies on the West Coast to their knees, but they need to know they have support for their INDEPENDENT, AUTONOMOUS, WORKER-LED struggle. They've been striking for the past week and are prepared to do what it takes to get what they deserve. There are more details about the strike and demands posted on Indybay.
It's time to show our true colors! The Labor Working Group is calling for all labor supporters and direct action folks to come TOMORROW to support the workers as they negotiate with the companies. We also need to show the companies the community stands with the workers -- and that we are prepared to escalate with them.

Labor Solidarity Working Group with Direct Action to Stop the War
ps - Note the picture above was taken on April 7, 2004 when community members and labor folks returned to the docks to protest SSA's involvement in union busting, both here and in bangladesh, and their involvement in union busting at the port in iraq. IF YOU LOOK CLOSE YOU WILL SEE A WHITE SHIRT WITH "APL" WRITTEN ON IT, THAT IS ONE OF THE STRIKING TRUCK DRIVERS AT THE APRIL 7th PROTEST...
Solidarity Forever!!
