Sac needs to protest Haiti coup/kidnap NOW -- but...
President Aristide & family are in danger in Central African Republic exile -- it's important to express max outrage immediately over the Coup & this kidnapping, but Sac "progressive movement" wants to keep "talking it over"...
Five or six people joined me Tuesday at the 16th & J "vigil" (as the weekly "honk for peace" informational rushhour picket is usually called) to help display the five Haiti signs I was able to put together Monday.
But suggestions that a larger emergency protest be called immediately were countered by various "honchae" who urged people not to "go off halfcocked", that we should "study the matter" etc etc.
So it looks to me like I'm in the wrong pew again -- maybe the solution is for me to move farther south, & leave my Liberal neighbors to do their thing in peace:^)
Seriously, I'm looking for A) Sacramento residents/contacts anyone may have with folks in the Sac area, who are ready to protest ASAP, somewhere in downtown Sac, like the Fed Bldg or the Mall -- somewhere visible to the public & handy for the media; & B) If someone has a flier already made up that you could email to me, one suitable for the general public here in Reagan Country, it would save time & brain cells -- both of which I have a shortage of right at this moment:)
Kudos to all of you Fresno folks who knew what to do & did it! And thanks for any help you can provide to sleepy old Sactomato:)
