Incurious George - What's Not on George Bushes Mind Today?

by Jacques Kinau (JKinau [at] stinktank.org)
Focusing on the important, not the urgent, is the hallmark of any successful business school graduate. While many Americans are trying desperately to follow the leader of the free world's proactive initiatives and programs, equally useful is an inventory of items that are "shelved", "off the table" or "not on the president's radar".

Unfortunately, that list is quite long and growing longer. And while many qualified news outlets have provided excellent information about what is no longer "front and center" in President Bush's mind, here is a summary of the most important presented as a public service.

  1. Revealing Pentagon Manipulation of Iraq WMD Intelligence.   By arming a panel of inquiry without subpoena power and experienced mainly in hunting down executive office sexual peccadilloes , George W. Bush has placed Douglas Feith's Office of Special Plans off limits.    Revealing the cause of  intelligence failures and the politicization of intel to the American people is now in never-never land.Finding out who Outed Valerie Plame.  No one could be less interested in who jeopardized undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame.  After delaying, obfuscating, and giving ample time for White House aides to destroy evidence, this incident is now staying out of presidential sight and mind.

  2. Revealing the "Friendly" Intelligence Agency that Fabricated Iraq/Niger Uranium Purchase Evidence.  Revealing who fabricated "evidence" pointing to an Iraqi uranium purchase in Niger is dead.  No desire or expectation of revealing the culprit to Americans exists in the Oval Office.

  3. Balancing America's Checkbook.  The president's 2005 budget reveals that finding a balance between "income" and "expenditures" continues to be "out of bounds".  A confidential and numbers rich addendum, circulated only to the Congress but kept secret from the public, reveals how social spending increases are gutted a few years out while massive tax cuts and military spending march on. ...more at http://www.StinkTank.org
