The Capacité Politique de la Classe Ouvrière is not exclusively a polemical book. Profiting the occasion of performing the labourer idea and of “The creation of the Economical Right”, Proudhon retakes for the last time on the sum of his doctrine. He opposes in synthetic abbreviations to the “Communist system of the Luxembourg” and the system that he attributes to the Manifest, but which is the last stage of its own. This system is now called mutualism, from the French word “mutuel”, which is another name for reciprocal, reciprocity, that means, justice. Mutualism is, then, no more than another name for federalism, for guarantism and anarchy in the proudhonian sense. It applies to all economical and political functions, to all the labouring, municipal and academical groupings, to all the ones that concur to form the collective reason.. The precise and positive pages, more than shining, abound in this display, an indomitable freedom’s love and also this amazing and persistent confidence in the virtue of free and just cooperation, from which he awaits the social and national peace, the disarmament and the universal co-operation. From all the reserves made to this optimism, sometimes so hardly stepped on, we hold back this last sketch that traces Proudhon of the worker, according to it`s heart, homo proudhonianus, and the institutions he fits in.
