# Sidewalk talk Aerial dances? Marching bands? Trapeze artists? Yo-yos? No, it ain't the circus out in the 'burbs – it's the Tenderloin, made unusually lively by the ninth annual 'In the Street Festival,' presented by the Luggage Store Gallery. There's also a performance by local modern dance heroes Krissy Keefer and Dance Brigade. Tomorrow join in a parade with the truly unusual Extra Action Marching Band, engage in Amy Francheschini's interactive "Human Knot," and thrill to Project Bandaloop's Youth Group, who'll perform six stories off the ground – all without leaving the vicinity of Ellis Street. Also on tap: visual arts exhibits, including Riley McFerrin's "bridge" hanging across Cohen Alley. 7-9 p.m. (also Sat/11, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.), 500 block of Ellis Street, between Leavenworth and Hyde, S.F. # Aftermath: Unaswered Questions From 9/11 Mon Oct 13 8pm
ELEVEN questions about the attacks of Sept. 11. That's what nine producers
from the Guerrilla News Network asked people in order to make Aftermath:
Unanswered Questions From 9/11. People interviewed in the video include
Nafeez Ahmed, author of War on Freedom; Mike Ruppert, editor of From the
Wilderness; and Peter Dale Scott, professor emeritus at UC-Berkeley.
A sampling of the tough questions asked: Why wasn't the U.S. military able
to intercept the hijacked planes? Were there plans for a war in Central
Asia prior to Sept. 11? What did the Bush administration know and when? Is
there an underlying motive for the U.S. military's presence in Central
Asia? Grand Lake Neighborhood Center, 530 Lake Park Ave, Oakland (between

# 10/14: Film: Blue Vinyl Takes a look at Vinyl, the world’s second largest selling plastic. With humor, hope and a piece of vinyl siding firmly in hand, the filmmaker travels to America’s vinyl manufacturing capital and beyond in search of answers about the nature of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Her parents’ decision to “re-side” their house with this seemingly benign cure-all for many suburban homes turns into a toxic odyssey with twists and turns that most ordinary homeowners would never dare to take.
