Pictures From Antiwar March From West Oakland BART To Downtown
On April 7th 2003, several hundred protesters gathered at the Port Of Oakland to protest American President Lines role in helping ship material used to massacre Iraqi civilians. While the protest was peaceful, the police showed up in force shooting wooden pellets, concussion grenades, and beanbags full of metal pellets indiscriminately into the crowd. Several protesters were seriously wounded. After the crowd was forced back up 7th street to the West Oakland BART, a march took place to the federal building in downtown Oakland.
