§M20: 7 AM: Queers United Against War
by Kevin Wednesday Mar 26th, 2003 8:49 PM
queerantiwar2.jpg
Blocking the intersections in front of the offices of KPIX Channel 5. Later an employee from the office came out and made some disturbing homophobic comments to the demonstrators. After he was confronted, he scurried back inside the building like a cockroach. A follow up complaint and possible action is in the works.

What you can't see is the overwhelming number of cops who helped us block the intersection.

"We're cops and we're out against the war!!!"
§3 women

The woman in the middle was earlier pushed to the ground by the pig in the foreground, SFPD Officer 1515.

There is a cold catheter waiting for him in hell.

§Marching down Church
by Kevin Wednesday Mar 26th, 2003 8:49 PM
queerantiwar7.jpg
Lots of car honking, lots of yelling.

Some bitch threw an egg and a couple of water balloons from their window but no one saw who it was. We're sending Officer 1515 over to accompany them to hell, which in this case will be listening to John Ashcroft sing the new Star Trek theme song to infinity.
§Going past the Castro Theater

Drama queen alert!

Here the contingent was beefed (or nellied) up by queens getting out of a Joan Crawford marathon at the theater.

"she's my daughter, she's my sister!"
§Intersection of Castro and Market
by Kevin Wednesday Mar 26th, 2003 8:49 PM
queerantiwar9.jpg
Here we peacefully blocked the intersection for about 30 minutes while we held a die-in to emphasize not only the deaths of Iraqi civilians in this fucked up invasion, but the deaths of people living with HIV/AIDS who will suffer the greatest brunt of the war-time cuts in services...but at least SFPD will get their overtime pay. Aint that sooooo coooool!

§Sleep-in

queerantiwar11.jpg
Some folks, tired from the day before, actually fell asleep and wouldn't get up. Luckily, being around so many gay people, crystal wasn't that far away. In fact, in the Castro, there are a couple of "in emergency, break glass" crystal stations in the event of an earthquake or other destructive act of God. I thing they're maintained by the same French company that takes care of the pay toilets.
§Is it over?

queerantiwar12.jpg
No, it's not. Some people just refused to leave. Can someone get me a cattle rod...PRONTO?
§M22: Pre-march Queer march
by Kevin Wednesday Mar 26th, 2003 8:49 PM
queerantiwar13.jpg
Taking over Market Street, mischevious queers buck the "protest establishment" by refusing to be caged in to Civic Center like a bunch of pink gorillas.

There are some sexy, horny mofos on this street, boy howdy! Check out that guy in the kangol hat! What's that in her hand??

Cute dyke alert. Break glass in case of Awww!

Oh, you should see the pics of IAC/IA trying to distance themselves from us, forming human barricades at least 50 feet in front of their lead banners so that you wouldn't second guess "who's" march this really is.

http://not.a.nonymous.org/photos/20030322/Page8.html

They're like trying to stay a block behind us and were probably not all that thrilled that we jumped in front of them. That's OK, we got to fuck the Fang building without anyone in those horrible green fashion disaster vests freaking out.
§Back to you Dennis...
by Kevin Wednesday Mar 26th, 2003 8:49 PM

"Thank you. Dennis Bernstein here. If you don't donate money to keep this station going I'm going to splatter my brains all over this studio...I BET ALL OF YOU WHO SEND ME DEATH THREATS WOULD LIKE THAT WOULDN'T YOU...back to you Wendell"

"I'M HEERRRE, on Marrrket STREET and it is one biiiiGGGG Messs. THIS is Wwwendelll Harper, for K - P - F - A NEEEwwwwsss....."
