Workers vs War Newsletter
Workers from the bay area organize against the war - newsletter (1st issue) and flyer.
Worker activists in the bay area have released the first copy of an anti-war/anti-militarist newsletter sponsored by the Labor Committee for Peace & Justice. With a front page piece by a teacher at Castlemont HS focusing on the resistance of teachers in Oakland to Bush’s militarism and with pieces on a recent tour of Palestinian Trade Union leaders, as well as resistance among working people in general; we hope we’ve developed a useful tool. We encourage you to check it out. If you find it helpful, please feel free to reproduce, distribute and send articles.
We also post a half-page flyer focused on putting a labor contingent together for the SF march on Jan 18. Grouplets of working people against the war are developing in workplaces everywhere. Workers organizations are ‘taking positions’ against the war more & more. Marching together can help extend and deepen these initial organic efforts, helping to give confidence to those willing to stand up; that we might stand stronger. Please take a look at the flyer and if you agree, print copies and distribute to co-workers & others, or email request – we deliver!
You’re welcome to join our next planning meeting this Sunday, Jan 5 at 10AM. It will take place at the Institute for Industrial Relations at 2521 Channing Way in Berkeley.
