# Sat Nov 2 TRIPS FOR KIDS DONATED BIKE DRIVE 9am - 5pm, U of SF Harney Plaza
A team of industrious USF MBA students are organizing a Bike Drive to support the national non-profit organization Trips for Kids. Bay Area residents are encouraged to donate their unwanted bikes for a tax deduction to increase Trips for Kids' bike supply. The fellow non-profit organization provides free mountain bike experiences to under privileged children and helps Bay Area residents discover affordable transportation on two wheels. Trips for Kids started in 1998 in Marin with the help of avid mountain biker and environmentalist Marilyn Price. The program expanded dramatically in 1994 with the establishment of a Bicycle Thrift Shop, a Re-Cyclery, and an Earn-a-Bike program. For more information call Lady Reiss at 440-1226 or visit

5:30-8:30pm, Chris Daly Campaign Headquarters
476 Eddy St. between Hyde and Leavenworth
The SFBC's most active supporter on the current Board of Supervisors, Daly was critical in the success of the new Howard Street Bike Lanes and the current transportation planning effort on Market Street. Chris Daly is 100% supportive of the SFBC agenda without hesitation, and is the only District 6 candidate who rides his bike to work every day. Help keep this important pro-bike voice in City Hall by remembering to vote November 5th! Tonight you can have an even bigger impact by volunteering at SFBC's special phone banking night at Chris Daly campaign headquarters. Help identify and turn out fellow Daly supporters in this important election!
Please RSVP by contacting Leah at SFBC: leah [at] sfbike.org or 431-BIKEx22. For more information on SFBC's democratic endorsement process and to read each candidate's response to our bike survey, see our Endorsements page: http://www.sfbike.org/campaigns/endorsements/

# Sat Nov 9 convergence at Justin Herman Plaza on Saturday
morning of Bay Area bike advocacy organizations and alternative
transit groups. We hope to attract at least a few hundred people to
bike and walk down to the Green Festival (8th + Brannan). We'll have
a mainly pedestrian marching straight down to the event via Market
and then 8th Street. The second part will constist of our people on
bikes spreading out all over downtown giving out flyers and
encouraging people to come down to the Festival.
For the parade part, we're working on getting some street theater
and/or indiginous dance groups to create as festive an atmosphere as
possible. I've already spoken with Loco Bloco, Brass Liberation
Orchestra, SF Mime Troupe, and several area bike activists who will
be contructing specialized bikes and bike trailers, giving out
literature, and doing whatever else we come up with between now and
the event. We would definetely like to see you guys be involved and I
look forward to hearing from you soon with any comments, ideas, or
questions. My cell phone is 415 425 7626, and my email is cvw1982 [at] aol.com. Hope
to hear from you soon. Chris Wirkmaa
