PNVRC EMERGENCY CONTINGENCY PLANS

by email repost
A nonviolence training by Pace Bene will be offered that night from 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM at First Unitarian Church of Oakland, 685 14th Street (14th and Castro next to 980 and 4 blocks from 12th St. BART).
PNVRC EMERGENCY CONTINGENCY PLANS:
******************************************
The Peoples' NonViolent Response Coalition (PNVRC) is calling for an East Bay response to the first vote in Congress that passes President Bush's resolution to go to war against Iraq.

PLEASE JOIN US!

The day the first vote occurs, we will gather at 5:00 PM at Frank Ogawa Plaza, (the northwest corner of 14th Street and Broadway in downtown Oakland). Look for the PNVRC Banner! Our objective is to encourage a nonviolence response, nonviolent resistance and nonviolent alternatives to war. Please bring candles, placards, etc., to promote this end.

We will then walk through downtown Oakland, down Broadway, through Chinatown, through Jack London Square and then back to downtown. Along the way we will carry banners and posters, distribute flyers, chant and sing.

A nonviolence training by Pace Bene will be offered that night from 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM at First Unitarian Church of Oakland, 685 14th Street (14th and Castro next to 980 and 4 blocks from 12th St. BART). There also will be a space provided for silent meditation and/or prayer. This nonviolence training is an opportunity for us to deepen our understanding and commitment to nonviolence. It is not intended solely for the purpose of preparing ourselves for the next days' actions, although it is partially for that purpose.

The next morning at 6:30 AM we will gather at the Oakland Federal Building for a somber vigil.

We will need help with various tasks:
*Helping to carry the PNVRC banner
*Collecting names on sign-up sheets
*Traffic monitors
*Distributing flyers during march
