Hear LaDumb is with countless cartoons about the atrocities comitted in Israel, this one showing the Isralis responsible for the death of children, and he is living in Brazil where the cops and other thugs have been known to
be paid by shop owners to knock off the street kids (some as young as 5 and 6) .
Thousands of kids are killed this way each year- significantly more than are killed in the Intafada, and their killing is 100% intentional. Yet no outrage from LaHypocrite, and this is happening right under his nose.
Or perhaps he spends all of his time on his computer reading about Israeli atrocities and never gets out to see how the other half live in his own country.

Also most terrorist leaders surrond themselves with human shields so people in indymedia can see how "evil" Isreal is when they retaliate against terrorism.

I love how nobody can criticize Israel without having a figure shaken in their face that says: Hey look they do it too! Now its Brazil, yesterday it was Syria, we always love to throw Iraq in their and Saudi Arabia. Are you people so fucking stupid that you could not tell that this message thread was about Israel and Palestine?
by Ronnie Ray-Gun
We just did, Hamas has been targeting Isreali civillians for several years now, and Isreal does not hesitate to take out whoever is responsable for the death of thier own people. Hey, Patton said war is hell and it was the Palastinains that declared the intafada.
by Mr T
They declared it after the peace process was shattered, after the settlements began to multiply at an alrming rate. I hate hamas and do not want anyone to think I promote their killings. But do not say its the Palestinians fault that the peace process broke. Who took the PM of Israel's spot Ronnie after Rabin was shot? What's that guy like?
by gehrig
After Rabin's assassination, he was followed by Shimon Peres, whom I genuinely admire and who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Rabin and Arafat. Peres continued to fully support the Oslo process, with the goal of an independent Palestinian state. Unfortunately, Arafat was already failing to hold up his side, and it had become impossible to pretend otherwise. The first major wave of suicide bombings from Hamas -- blowing up a bus in Jerusalem and a shopping mall in Tel Aviv in 1996 -- were timed to occur within days of an Israeli election. Peres was defeated by a fraction of a percent by the eloquent but ineffective Binyamin Netanyahu, who proceeded to make a hash of things and work toward dismantling the Oslo accord. Netanyahu would not have won the election had it not been for Hamas' bombings; and in turn those bombings would not have occured had Arafat been serious about cracking down on Palestinian terror attacks against Israeli civilians.

After Netanyahu failed as PM and lost a bitter reelection campaign, along came Ehud Barak, from the left. By then it was pretty clear that Arafat didn't intend to lift a finger to halt terror attacks against Israel, although Barak was in the awkward position of having to pretend that Arafat was Sadat the Second. So Barak also failed as PM, and one of the truly evil people of the world, Ariel Sharon, won.

In short:
Rabin/Peres (far left) + Arafat = no peace.
Netanyahu (right) + Arafat = no peace.
Barak (moderate left) + Arafat = no peace.
Sharon (far right) + Arafat = no peace.

I apologize for the multiple posts. As Eric Idle said, "It's a fair cop and I blame society."

I should have said the "Rabin Adminsitration" which fell apart more or less after he died. Although I have much respect for Peres who seems to be the only leftist political figure recieving any press at the moment, the process did come to a grinding halt afterward. Not to say Arafat is the greatest man alive, but I don't think we (as in the US) or Israel has the right to impeach him. We do know he made motions toward peace and he was awarded the Nobel Prize. We also know at times he seemed at best lagging on arresting militants in the PNA territory, this is obvious. Hamas is more popular now than it probably ever has been. Although at the moment criticizing the guy while he and most his country is under house arrest for not doing much is absurd. The territory is ruble. The buildings are ruble. The police forces have been decimated so much that even if they wanted to crack down on Hamas and Islamic Jihad they would definitely have almost no chance of doing so at the moment. I will though like to point out that at least we know that when the Israeli left is in power that is in the case of Rabin Barak Peres we definitely seem to see less violence and more steps taken toward peace. If peace is ever achieved there it will be from someone like Rabin and not Netanyahu who pretty much has openly stated that Israel should take over the west bank permanantly while criticizing Sharon for being too lenient and pacifistic. As for right now he seems to be more along the far right than Sharon. Those people we know do not want peace. We know the left does. We don't know if Arafat does, he seemed to at one time and i have not heard him say too much otherwise openly. But he is shady. But not the greatest obstacle to peace at the moment. Sharon is. Gehrig you cannot tell me that when he took power you didn't know things were about to get a lot worse.

"Gehrig you cannot tell me that when he took power you didn't know things were about to get a lot worse."

True; the only time I felt worse on hearing an election result was the 1980 US Presidential election. However, America survived Reagan, medieval asshole and yutz that he was, in no small part because America is much more than what Reagan represented. Similarly, Israel will survive Sharon, and for the same reason.

Even as I disagree with some of your posting, at least you make a knowledgeable contribution to subjects on which you comment, and you do not rely on ignorant racism. I would say the same for Mr. T.

Gehrig, regarding Oslo you say ‘Unfortunately, Arafat was already failing to hold up his side...” It seems to me that Arafat record regarding Oslo and on other attempt to solve this conflict is better than what we have seen from Sharon. This military bully only believes in military solutions that are in lock-step with apartheid and transfers policies.

Sharon could care less about the 2,640 people who have been killed in the past 21 months. This includes 1710 Palestinians and 580 Israelis, mostly civilians on both sides. He knows that with the billions of our tax dollars our politicians give him, the Palestinians, no matter how hard they may fight, are really no match in a war against the number one and four military power in the world.

Just one fact for Ronnie R, the infantile racist. The killing on both sides began long before the intifada. Look it up if you can. It’s in all the history book. Books are little rectangular things, usually about 6” x 9”. They are made with paper, printed, folded then cut down to size. If you ask directions from an adult, they should be able to point you in the right direction. Unlike IMC which is free even to idiots, books do cost money.

Hey,Jews and Arabs are all semites,if you took the clothing off Some jews and arabs and lined them up you could not tell the differance. This is not a color issue either. If you want to get techinacal the terrorism against Isreal started in 1948 as soon as in was founded.
And Mr.T, you think my handle is dumb? Try to be oraginal dude, not some washed up relic from the eighties thats dying of cancer and can only talk by yelling and screaming and a T.V. camrea.
Hey Rene,I just finished "Green eggs and ham" so fuck off!
by gehrig
As little love as I have for Sharon -- whom I've considered a hateful racist for two decades -- by the time he became PM there wasn't much left of Oslo to destroy, so firmly was Hamas in the driver's seat.

The twin tragedies of Oslo, essentially simultaneous, were the assassination of Rabin and the decision by Arafat to only _appear_ to restrict and eliminate terror groups like Hamas. In the earliest days of the PA, Hamas leaders went into hiding, because they thought Arafat really meant it when he said he was going to crack down. Then it became obvious that Arafat meant to do no such thing.

Hebron: The Divided City (ZNet)
http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=22&ItemID=2151

"In fact, many Sephardic Jews settled in Hebron after the Spanish Inquisition precisely because it was safe. In a small office in Hebron, I spoke with a Palestinian named Majdi, who recounted Hebron's history to me. He said that Hebron was a model for how Jews and Arabs can coexist. This coexistence was not always perfect—there were conflicts—but it was not until the early 1900's that this coexistence faltered. The breakdown happened while Hebron was under British control. The British, fearing an alliance for independence between moderate Arabs and Jews, employed divide and conquer tactics to create major animosity between the two groups.

There were many conflicts, but the massacre of 1929 is the one that everyone in Hebron, Arab and Jew, speaks about. In 1929, 69 Jews were killed by Arabs, in spite of the fact that many Arabs hid their Jewish neighbors to protect them from the onslaught. Shortly after that, the Jews were evacuated by the British. They returned briefly for the period between 1931 and 1936, but were again evacuated. In 1948, Jordan gained control of Hebron, and it was forbidden for Jews to travel there even to pray. It was not until 1968, after the West Bank was occupied by Israel, that the Jewish community was once again established in Hebron."

Hebron pushes peace to brink (Middle East Times)
http://www.metimes.com/issue98-36/reg/hebron_pushes_peace.htm

"Following the 1929 Hebron massacre in which 60 Palestinian Jews were killed, the city's Jewish population fled to predominantly Jewish areas. In 1984, Shamir's government encouraged extremist elements of the settlers to move into Hebron. Then Defense Minister Moshe Arens instructed the settlers to seize a plot of land before the national unity government began its term.

At the center of the Hebron market today stands a building carrying a sign that reads: "this market was built on Jewish property, stolen by Arabs, after the 1929 massacre." The some 400 settlers living there reject a peaceful settlement that trades land for peace.

Background on Hebron (Human Rights Watch)
http://www.hrw.org/reports/2001/israel/hebron6-03.htm

"Tensions between Palestinians and Jews in the town have repeatedly resulted in severe outbreaks of violence, notably - but by no means exclusively - in 1929 and 1994. On August 23 1929, amid anti-Jewish riots in much of Palestine, sixty-seven Jewish residents of Hebron were brutally murdered by Palestinian Arabs, with some of the victims being raped, tortured, or mutilated. Other Palestinian Arabs sheltered their Jewish neighbours; today the Zionist Archives preserve a list of 435 Jews who found a safe haven in twenty-eight Palestinian Arab homes in Hebron during the carnage. Jewish residents left Hebron in the years following the 1929 massacre, and for today's Israeli settlers in Hebron it remains a potent symbol: in November 2000, a large sign could be seen near the Palestinian market next to the Avraham Avino settlement in central Hebron: "This market was built on Jewish property, stolen by Arabs, after the 1929 massacre."
...
Hebron was part of British mandate Palestine from 1917 until 1948 when, together with the rest of what became known as the West Bank, it was unilaterally incorporated into Jordan following the Arab-Israeli war that accompanied the establishment of the state of Israel. It remained under Jordanian rule until Israel occupied the West Bank during the June 1967 Arab-Israeli war. "
