100 Day Anniversary Bike Ride to Freshwater Tree-sit!
Come show solidarity and support for Remedy, on June 29th, her 100th day far above the ground!
A group of friends and supporters will be going on a bike ride June 29th to celebrate and show support for the Freshwater tree-sits. On this day Remedy will have spent 100 days in "Jerry'" a giant old-growth redwood which overlooks the not-so-Freshwater watershed. We will be meeting at noon on the Arcata Plaza and leaving shortly thereafter. Bring water and food for yourself, and goodies for the sitters. I took the following paragraphs from an earlier article about the area.

Freshwater creek, a watershed of suffrage, has endured the burden of MAXXAM / Pacific Lumber’s debt driven clear-cutting for over a decade. The results of this devastation include down stream residents experiencing flooding of their homes and access roads, detrimental affects on their water quality and quantity, and property values that plummet as a result of MAXXAM / Pacific Lumbers devastating forest practices.
With over 500 acres of clear-cutting planned in the Freshwater (watershed each year, this is one of the most heavily devastated areas owned by PL).
