OAKLAND, CA— The jury in the Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney federal civil rights lawsuit against four FBI agents and three Oakland Police officers announced today at 3 pm that it has reached a unanimous verdict on most of the claims before them. They were instructed by Judge Claudia Wilken to return at 8:30 am Tuesday to try to reach unanimity on the remaining issues, but indicated she will not keep them past 1:30 pm, and that this would be their last day of deliberation. Wilkin put the verdicts they had rendered under seal. When court reconvenes Tuesday, the judge will make a determination how much more time the jury wants to discuss their undecided issues, but the verdict will be rendered sometime between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.
The courtroom is located at the Federal Building, 13th and Clay in Oakland. Please remember to bring identification to get into the courthouse. A media conference will follow court, outside of the Federal Building.
