Mea Culpa re: ClearChannel
Willie Brown, supervisors and pred mount legislation - CORRECTION
As many, many folks have pointed out, Willie Brown was the assembly speaker for many years - and then the two term mayor of San Francisco.
The original sentence in the alert referred to Willie Brown's control over the old SF Board of Supervisors, and was adjusted by a reader who was fairly new in town and not familiar with byzantine San Francisco politics.
Apologies for not catching the incorrectly edited text prior to distribution.
IMC please change the front page text to "Brown, when he had majority control of the Supervisors".
Our new ED is fresh outta Seattle and made a mistake.
For those who are interested, the alert did result in many calls and e-mails to City Hall , the news conference on the steps was well-attended, and two dozen of us lobbied 10 of the 11 supervisor's offices prior to the vote today in private session.
