Artist Rigo 02 dedicates a large mural in downtown San Francisco to Robert H. King, a Black Panther who survived 29 years of solitary confinement at Angola Prison in Louisiana. Mr. King was released 1 year and 73 days prior to this event and during that time he has traveled the world speaking out about human rights abuses in the United States, about his experiences and about the plight of his comrades still in prison at Angola, Louisiana.

The 140 x 55 foot mural entitled "TRUTH" adorns the exterior of the landmark OddFellows building across Market Street from United Nations Plaza and is visible from the steps of City Hall.

On Monday April 22nd, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm there will be a gathering at the United Nations Plaza in celebration of the dedication. Mr. King will be present at the event, as will representatives of the City of San Francisco, including Mayor Willie Brown and Stanlee Gatti, President of the San Francisco Arts Commission. Representatives from the Ohlone and Karuk tribes of Northern California will welcome Mr. King and perform Native American Songs, Stories and Poetry. Several speakers, musicians, poets and performers will also address the gathering, including:
