Earth First! Action Camp

by Chrysalis
North Coast Earth First! Action Camp
November 3-16
Hello friends!

It's been a while since we've sent an update, but we've been going through a
lot of changes--and we'll have our office back soon. We're starting to get
things going again now, so you'll be hearing a lot more from us--cause we
just won't quit!

MAXXAM/Pacific Lumber started cutting a Hole in Headwaters regardless of the
damage it will do to the Elk River!

5 Timber Harvest Plans have been cut in the Mattole watershed and they are
filing more and more as fast as they can!

They want to cut one of the last pristine ancient Redwood groves they call
Nanning 9!

The list goes on…and time is running out!

Humboldt Forest Defense is holding an Action Camp in order to train and
educate people about the ills of industrial forestry, and the defense of
threatened forests, as well as the scam behind the Headwaters Deal involving
it's Habitat Conservation Plan.

On Saturday, October 27 over 100 motivated people hiked to the Hole in
Headwaters to show their support for a healthy Elk River. We saw the need
for an emergency Action Camp in order to increase our numbers so that we can
put an end to the madness of corporate greed in Humboldt county (and
beyond…) once and for all!

Action Camp Trainings will include:
Non-violence
Tree Climbing
Knot Tying
Backwoods
Media
Organizing

Action Camp began November 3rd and will go until the 16th.
Indeed this is short notice but please try to make it there for at least one
day if you can. It is a very educational and uniting experience. If you
need carpool information, call and leave a message, and we’ll get in touch
with you! 707 825-6598
