Art Is Not A Crime: A performance marathon to drop the charges against the Publix Theatre Caravan and release all Genoa / G8 activists from Italian jails - took place on August 23rd, 2001 - in front of the Italian Consulate in San Francisco, CA USA.
Amazing-powerful-moving-inspiring - theatre, dance, song, and spoken word performances and appearances by (more or less): Dance Brigade, Samsara, Keith Hennessy, Art and Revolution Street Theater Collective, Gravity Physical Theater, Village Culture, Tango for Protest, Folk This!, Body Cartography, Teli Carduci, Drew Dellinger, Dan McCale a.k.a. John WTO, fire artists, DJ’s, San Francisco Mime Troupe members, Singing & Guitar by Faith __(?), Starhawk, Andy Stoffel (Publix Theatre Caravan - G8 arrestee) appeared “virtually” via cell phone, stilt walkers, Molotov Mouth, Justice For Idriss Stelley (killed by the SFPD) spoken word by __(?) with words from Summer Galbreath, Food Not Bombs, and more.
