Niketown Protest: Saturday, February 10 -- starting at 12:00 Noon
Post and Stockton
Union Square, San Francisco

Planning Meeting: Wednesday, February 7 -- 7:00 PM at Global Exchange
office
2017 Mission, San Francisco (near 16th/Mission Bart)

All out to Nike Town!!!

It Is Time. It. Is. Way. Past. Time. After more than three weeks of
inaction by Nike, while workers at their Kuk Dong -Mexico facility have been
abused, beaten, denied their rights and fired, it is time for us to let Nike
know that they can no longer ignore the demands of the Kuk Dong workers and
we who stand in solidarity with them. So... we're gonna rally and protest at
the San Francisco Niketown store at Post and Stockton, on Saturday, February
10, starting at 12:00 Noon, and continuing until we have no voices left with
which to shout about the complete hubris of these corporate criminals.

With this much time to do advance planning, this should be a most exciting
and vibrant action that will send a serious message directly from Union
Square, San Francisco straight to Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
Leila Salazar and the Global Exchange network will be out in full force, as
will students and activists from around the Bay Area and throughout
California. There will be opportunities for creativity and artistry, as well
as nonviolent protest and civil disobedience. Speakers will talk about the
situation in Atlixco de Puebla, Mexico and how Nike has tried -- from the day
that these brave workers asserted their rights and took over their factory --
to distance themselves from any responsibility for the conditions suffered by
the workers, and how Nike's spokespeople have repeatedly lied and twisted the
facts in a vain effort to keep the truth of their complicity from being told.

A planning meeting for this action will be held at the offices of Global
Exchange on Wednesday, February 7, starting at 7:00 PM. Come out and help to
plan this rally and protest in support of the workers at Kuk Dong, Mexico.
If you can't make the planning meeting, please mark your calendar for
February 10, 12:00 Noon, at the Niketown in Union Square, San Francisco.
Nike Shox the conscience -- so we're gonna Just Do It.

nike and their existence is 100% violence.
smashing up niketown is not violence.
solidarity!

not many people disagree with the idea that property destruction is a nonviolent expression(if life is not endangered)...but then again last time we say Global Exchange in front of Niketown they were protecting it

one can only hope that no one tries to protect it this time around...not that any one is planning to break their window on broad daylight this next saturday, but protecting Niketown is...well it doesn't make too much sense

by hanz
large crowds, strong voices and clear messages can gain respect and attention....breaking windows and property just feeds the press cameras with images that distort and distract the true meaning and value of the protest.
Of course some fools will have to 'just do it' but i encourage you to 'just think'
