Protest Against War with Iraq

Protesters gathered at Powell and Market yesterday to call for the end of the war on Iraq. After ten years over 2 million people have died from the planned bombardment of Iraq's infrastructure and crippling economic embargo. Bombings continue on an almost daily basis by US/UK warplanes in a unilateral military campaign against Iraq.

"Americans must wake up", called out Muhammad Hanif of the American Muslims for Global Peace and Justice. Pointing out that people have complacenlty accepted this war while Iraqis die. Others called the war a racially motivated war while the US supports Israel in it's occupation of Palestine.
