by Lynda Carson (lyndacarson [at] excite.com)
Despite Wide Spread Troubles During The Latest
Presidential Election,More
Election Shenanigans Continue In Oakland.....
Oakland--Stealth Elections
are being conducted in Oakland upon Sunday
January 14th,2001.
Doors open at 1630
Webster Street in Oakland from 1p.m. till 2p.m., at
SEIU Local 6616 to
elect State Delegates for
the 16th Assembly District.
Raiders Fans are allowed to vote early starting at 10 a.m. so that they can still make it to the game.
Sources say that efforts were made to keep this all hushed up,and allegations are that Barry Bingham of
Alameda set this up in such
a way that very few people knew that this election is being held.Low voter turnout favors the incumbents.
In an effort to beat the old boy network thats been
controling the process, some locals got together
to create the New Democratic Slate to run
as Delegates for the 16th
Assembly District. This shall give the public a choice that
did not exist before.
Voting booths open
from 1p.m. till 2p.m. Special
time for the Raiders Fans,
with booths open at 10.a.m.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
