S26/NAB Reclaim the Streets Protest!
This street party will be a celebration of pleasure over profit, and will reclaim our public space from cars, cops, and capital.
Gather at 6pm tuesday evening at the downtown Berkeley BART station. Come prepared with costumes, instruments, dancing shoes, skatebords, bicycles, and whatever you want. 2 sound systems will be pumping, as well as a circus, bands, and whatever you mayhem bring...
There will be a simultaneous Critical Mass of bicycles and dancing march before we arrive at the liberation site. Once there, the party will go on until we feel like it\'s over.
RECLAIM THE STREETS is a way of liberating public space, returning the road. even if temporarily, to
the public for socializing, bicycling, art, food, music, dissent, dialogue, and creativity. Street parties are a
way to come together and build communities, and enjoy ourselves while thumbing our noses at those who
want to kick us out of discos and downtown sidewalks, and place people instead inside stores or jails.
