AFSCME 3299 Worker Protesting for Labor Contract Slammed by UC Berkeley Police
Support David Cole
On February 1, at a peaceful labor protest honoring the 50th Anniversary of low-wage African American workers and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr organized by AFSCME Local 3299, the University of California deployed police tactics more befitting of the Jim Crow South--unjustly assaulting a 51 year-old African American UC Berkeley employee named David Cole. A video of the assault was captured and posted to Facebook. The person posting it added the inscription, "What a sick feeling".
