In the basic income society, work is what one wants, not what one must. Work is the contribution I make, not the obligation I meet to survive... A minimum wage is a right step in the wrong direction... "Alone I can become free (no one can take away my free development) but I cannot become free alone. The drama of becoming free is a social drama" (Swiss philosopher Stefan Brotbeck). Earlier individuality consisted in surviving alone in nature. Today it means becoming a free individual person safeguarded by the community. Basic income enables individuals to best serve the community.
