The new documentary "Occupation Has No Future: Militarism + Resistance in Israel/Palestine" premiered in San Francisco on February 3rd, 2011, at the War Memorial Veterans Building. Through the voices of those living and resisting in Israel and Palestine, the film begins by examining the militarism that is so deeply ingrained in Israeli culture through conscription and the promotion of an irrational fear of the Arab "other" then takes viewers through to the West Bank, examining the real-life effects of the occupation on Palestinians and the abuses they endure from both settlers and the Israeli Defense Forces. The well-attended premiere in San Francisco received a rousing and appreciative reception from the audience. The screening was followed by a discussion panel which included David Zutnick, director of the film, and other members of the contingent that traveled together in late 2009 to connect with Israeli and Palestinian war resisters and to produce the film.
