*Hands Across the Sand* International Beach Protest Includes Street Theater in City
Elaine Wentworth
Palo Alto, CA. June 26, 2010. Activists demonstrated with street theater in front of a branch of Chase Bank today, on an international day of action against offshore drilling organized by Hands Across the Sand. Protesters said Chase Bank's ties to BP was the reason the bank branch was chosen as the site of today's action. Photo by E. Moran: Demonstrators act out the cozy relationship between a Chase Banker and British Petroleum. Their sign, decorated with bloody money, reads "Chase Bank enables BP--Chase is the Chief Depository Bank for BP".
