Protesting Racism and Unfair Labor Practices of Randy Shaw at Tenderloin Housing Clinic
Community activists and union members will be protesting the racist and unfair labor practices of Tenderloin Housing Clinic Executive Director Randy Shaw at the clinic. Nate Holmes has worked at the Tenderloin Housing Clinic since 1999.Nate fought for his fellow workers and helped bring a union onto the job. As an elected union steward, Nate filed grievances for his co-workers . Management didn't like this and first transferred him, then after several months fired him because of his union activity. Now Nate is fighting to get his job back. Randy Shaw has been allowed to throw his weight around since day one without addressing the merits of the dispute as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Tenderloin Housing Clinic receives funding from the City and County of San Francisco, however Shaw continues to get away without addressing the issues within a timely manner. On Wednesday, August 19, we will be protesting this unfair and racial injustice all on city funds. Start at the office of the Tenderloin Housing Clinic-126 Hyde Street then march to the Clinic's Housing Department 472 Turk Street/Larkin Street. Come turn out for the fight for workers right!!
