Monday, January 21, 2008 : As we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, birthday and reflect on his legacy, let us ask, "What would Dr. King say about the Iraq War?" The tragedy and quagmire of the Iraq War beg us for a peaceful resolution. Yet military escalation and the deepened quagmire have been our nation's course. Since the U.S.' invasion of Iraq in 2003, over 3,000 Americans have been killed, an estimated 23,000 or more Americans have been injured, more than 1,168,100 Iraqis have been killed, and countless Iraqis have been injured.
