The "S" Word: Still Being Used to Deny the Poor
Tuesday, October 2, 2007 : Politicians are such a funny bunch. Take the debates on the Congressional plan to establish a healthcare program for America’s 10 million uninsured kids. While the bill is hardly revolutionary, it will give one of the country’s most vulnerable populations some much-needed relief. For my money, I’d rather that the discussions were about a European or Cuban-style national healthcare plan for all Americans, but covering the backs of our nation’s little ones is a start.
