Friday, September 28, 2007 : DALLAS – More than 2,000 protesters gathered in Irving, Texas to protest what they consider the unjust deportation and detention of Latino immigrants. Community and religious leaders joined residents in their denunciations of the city of Irving’s 24-7 Criminal Alien Program, a local law enforcement program that has resulted in the detention and deportation of more than 1000 mostly Latino immigrants.
