At least six Israeli soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip after a landmine destroyed a troop transport military vehicle, Dubai-based Al Arabiya television has said. According to witnesses, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack which occurred during an Israeli incursion into the Gaza City neighbourhood of Zeitoun, which is believed to be a stronghold of the militant Hamas group.
