 and Iran's first female judge, Shirin Ebadi has led the call for changes in 
 divorce and inheritance legislation. Ms. Ebadi challenges the narrow 
 interpretation of Islam with a view that underscores the compatibility of 
 Islam with democracy, human rights, and legal protection for women and 
 children. She also challenges the West to discard misconceptions about 
 Muslims. Ms. Ebadi chronicles the Iranian reformist movement and her 
 exceptional life in her memoir Iran Awakening: A Memoir of Revolution and
